The OXUS Group’s portfolio development: December 2006 – December 2011

Since inception and as of december 2011 OXUS microfinance institutions (MFIs) have disbursed nearly 133,000 loans microfinance worth US $ 97.9 million. This represents a very significant increase when compared to the figures of January 2006, when the OXUS Group inherited ACTEDs portfolio worth less than US $ 1 million.

Meanwhile, the OXUS Group Outstanding Loan Balance has grown from just over US $ 2 million in December 2006 to nearly US $ 18.3 million in December 2011. At the same time, the number of clients stands at just over 18,000. Breadth of outreach has slightly retreated over the last couple of years following the OXUS Group focus on portfolio quality, in particular at OXUS Afghanistan.
