OXUS has been conceived as the creation of a specialised tool to take over ACTED Microfinance Programme. It is in full line and complementarity with ACTED goals and objectives: contribute to eradicate poverty. Microfinance is thus a key component of development aid tools and, through OXUS, it complements ACTED chain of interventions.
This complementary nature is a key factor to guarantee sustainability and security for beneficiaries.
For example, in case of natural disaster, the clients would face difficulties in meeting their deadline for reimbursement. As such, one of the key complementarities between OXUS and ACTED is that in case of disaster, ACTED, as a relief agency, will intervene and support their basic needs and help them overcome the crisis.
Thus we can say that our approach is the one of Integrated Microfinance: Microfinance is one key component of the ACTED development action.
