ACTED takes part in the 2006 Salon de l’humanitaire exhibition
For the second year ACTED/OXUS took part
in the Salon de l'Humanitaire in Cergy
Pontoise, about 40 km from Paris, from
May 18 to 20. During the exhibition, which
gathered about a hundred of actors of
international solidarity, ACTED wanted
to expand its visibility towards general
public, professionals of the sector and
students, especially thanks to a presence
on a stand. This presence allowed the
HR department to open a Recruitment Box
and to receive many applicants for interviews.
ACTED also grabbed the opportunity to communicate about the activities of its Microfinance activities, OXUS Development Network. Its micro credit programs in Central Asia aroused a great interest from the public.
The two conferences attended by ACTED/OXUS
have also been listened with interest.
Thus Marie-Pierre Caley evoked the links
between emergency and development in Tajikistan
in the framework of the conference called
NGOs: from emergency to development
next to the URD and PlaNet Finance; from
their side Arnaud Poissonnier and Béatrice
de Montleau, OXUS Directors, evoked the
competences partnership existing between
ACTED and ABN AMRO since May 2005, during
the conference Corporate sponsorships
between NGOs and companies.
Thus the results of this exhibition are quite positive for ACTED/OXUS, both at the visibility and recruitment levels, but also as an event of internal mobilization. However we think this exhibition could have a larger scale; a meeting is planned with its organizers to discuss the future perspectives for the next year exhibition, in which ACTED should take part.
Celebrating Mozart in the name of a Good Cause: a Great Success!
January 27th, 2006 , the concert organized by the Piacer’Canto chorus and the ACA 6 association gathered more than 1200 people in Saint Sulpice Church, Paris. The audience was able to enjoy the wonderful acoustics of the church that portrayed the works of the Austrian Genius. The Concerto for Flute and Harp set the standard, and the soprano Elizabeth Procuronoff won her audience’s heart the heart with her interpretation of the Requiem’s Great Chorus and the Exultate Jubilate. The famous Coronation Mass ensured the evening ended on a high note. All the benefits of the concert, sponsored by ABN AMRO, were given to ACTED/ OXUS . ACTED/ OXUS would like to thank warmly the audience, the musicians and the organizers. The concert provided an opportunity to strengthen existing relations between ACTED, OXUS and ABN AMRO and opened the way to new partnerships between their respective employees.
